On a Sea of Diamonds

Ice, Ice, Baby | 270mm, f/5.6, 1/4000 sec, ISO 800

Spent the weekend at the lake, and had a wonderful time. The weather, food, family, and friends were a delight. I wish I could spend more time there.

Saturday, about an hour before sunset, I was standing on the deck and saw this sailboat moving silently by. This photo was the last in the series, and it was taken right as the sparkles were brightest–almost blinding–and before the boat went behind a tree. I was hoping I’d caught the effect that looked so magical through the lens and that it would translate well to the picture. I was pleased with the result.
