Deux or Trois?

While walking around Gordo recently, I noticed the fallen leaves and crepe myrtle petals looked so pretty against the rough texture of the weathered concrete. Then I saw this indention (I presume it has some sort of utility purpose) where several of the leaves and petals had gathered , and thought, Cool… the roman numeral “two.”

And then I thought, Wait, it’s just as easily three bars.

And then I thought, It’s neither two nor three. It’s just my need to make patterns or associations out of randomness.

And then I thought, I have really weird thoughts sometimes. :)

Either way, I love the textures, the colors, and the fact that I did not change anything except the exposure on this shot. It was ever so slightly over-exposed, so I adjusted it a bit. I started to clone out the white area to the left, but then decided to keep even that imperfection in. Details are nice on this one.

Sometimes there’s so much beauty in the world,
I feel like I can’t take it,
and my heart is just going to cave in.
